About Rogues Theatre
Rogues Theatre is a semi-professional company with a distinct creative voice. The company is dedicated to producing plays that explore the complexity of the contemporary human experience.
Rogues Theatre was launched in April 2000. Intended to act as a bridge between the ensemble work at Company of Rogues Actors' Studio and the professional stage, Rogues Theatre is committed to the development of emerging theatre artists of all disciplines through the production of exhilarating theatre selections from the best local, Canadian, and international repertoires.
Rogues Theatre provides opportunities for emerging actors, playwrights, designers, and technicians to collaborate with professional theatre artists, adding a distinctive voice to Calgary's vibrant professional theatre community.
Our Venue: The Pumphouse Theatre is a heritage building located in a beautiful park setting along the Bow River. It houses one of Calgary's most intimate venues, the Joyce Doolittle Theatre, home to Rogues Theatre and some of Calgary's most dynamic, provocative and innovative companies.

Joe-Norman Shaw - Artistic Director As Founder and Artistic Director of Rogues Theatre, Joe's directing credits include St. Scarlet, Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, Push Up, Tape, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, The Melville Boys, Selling Mr. Rushdie, Criminal Genius, Savage in Limbo, Italian American Reconciliation and Cow Town. As an actor for Rogues Theatre he has appeared in Heaven and Dinner with Friends.
An actor since 1981, Joe has performed in theatres across Canada and internationally including The Stratford and Shaw Festivals, NAC, Citadel Theatre, and Vancouver Playhouse. In Calgary he has worked with ATP, Theatre Junction, Lunchbox Theatre, Pleiades Theatre (now Vertigo) and Downstage. Joe's numerous film and TV credits include the upcoming CBC Mini-series Everest, Christmas Miracle, Moondance Alexander, Crazy Canucks, Tom Stone, Burn, Caitlin's Way, High Noon, North of Sixty and Noah. Joe is Co-Director and Founder of Company of Rogues Actors' Studio and holds an Honours BA in Drama (University of Guelph) and an MFA in Directing (University of Calgary).
